MY friend has a HP Pavilion dv5220us on which the screen glows with the back light on initial boot. No bios screen shows, nuttin. If my friend connect an external monitor to the machine, he can watch the boot process and load of the OS. Once the OS is up, if the external screen has a blue background, so does the LCD. Background colors match on external and LCD. Also, the LCD starts off with many vertical bars of blue and gradually migrates to a full blue screen, but never any text. What should we look for? Do you or all think it is just the screen? :(
