Hello. I've owned an HP Pavilion dv6 for four years and have been very satisfied with it. Recently, however, I've had this issue where the laptop will unexpectedly shutdown. Usually whatever I will be doing will stop and I will receive a blue screen telling me there was an unexpected problem, and my computer is forced to stop to prevent further damage. I have a feeling it might be a heating issue, but I am not sure.

    Has anyone had similar issues?

You might have installed some software that does not agree with the bios. Try uninstalling anything that was installed prior to the shutdowns.
