    Hi!

I own a HP Pavilion dv6-6109sg and I'm playing with the thought to replace the 15.6" WXGA glare LED TFT (1366x768) with a FULL HD (1920x1080) screen.

I just read a few threads about this topic.

Is there a difference between dv6-10xx and dvt-xxxx model??
Is there also a diff between EU and US models?

Which replacement parts do I need for this upgrade?

    - of course a new 1920x1080 fullhd screen - Which one?
    - cable set - Which one?

    Thanks in advance!!

You will need to replace the LCD ribbon cable other wise the 1080p panel will not work.

There is a thread for this, look for display replacement in this area, you will see that I have done this upgrade recently.

Note my panel type, go for this one, it rules, or try the v7 panel if you want a glossy screen with higher contrast.

Through the HP parts store. Change your country so you can get the correct price, and see if you can get the part in your area.

    Hi

I just talked to the hotline support guy...
He said that the "Display CABLE KIT - ALU FHD" is NOT available in whole EU

So I guess I need to order the kit somewhere in the US ... Any ideas?

    Bye

    EDIT:
    http://www.dectrader.com/665305-001-New-HP-Display-CABLE-KIT-ALU-FHD.html#.UAaiBvWpMmc

    kit + shipping to Austria would be $112.70 (= € 92,00) ... hm at least it's an option ;)
Would a cable kit from another manufacturer fit? Dell?

I guess the shipping cost calculation isn't working correct?? It's $3.92 to almost every location...

The cable kit production description says:

    Compatible Part Number:

    HP Pavilion DV6 series
    HP Pavilion DV6-6000
    HP Pavilion DV6--6C40TX
    HP Pavilion DV6--6151TX
    HP Pavilion DV6--6100TX
    HP Pavilion DV6--6153TX
    HP Pavilion DV6--6C41TX
    HP Pavilion DV6--6029TX
    HP Pavilion DV6--6b11TX

    I have a dv6-6109sg ... Will that be a problem?

For the screen, I would still prefer a European dealer, because of the high shipping costs.
Some HP hotline employee also confirmed that the posted screen will fit for my DV6.

Anyone got a good modification instruction?

    Thanks!
    Bye
