Hi guys,
I am VERY happy to report, that with help of a guy, there is finaly a BIOS with ALL menus unlocked and whitelist for WLAN and bluetooth REMOVED. I donated some money to him and he unlocked a BIOS version F.02 (SP54846) for laptop models below:
dv6-6bXX
dv6-6cXX
dv7-6bXX
dv7-6cXX
The F.02 version is the latest possible to unlock, all later releases (F.19, F.1A, F.1B, F.1C) are encrypted with a private HP digital key. It works just fine, no problems whatsoever. Just download the BIOS from donovan6000 blog, rename HP_TOOLS partiton to any other name and run the downloaded file with admin rights. Don't forget to flash the bios with external power!
There are no additional steps required, just flash the bios!
I flashed it a week ago and bought a new dual band 2x2 Intel 7260 AC card with bluetooth 4.0 and it works great! I can only recommend it to all of you, who still have crappy factory installed Broadcom 4313 card!
You can download BIOS from here:
donovan6000's Blog
Here's a screenshot of my dv6-6b55eg device manager with a Intel 7260 AC installed!

Of course there is always a slight chance of going something wrong and if it does, I can not and will not be responsible for any bricked laptops or broken _______ (displays, keyboards, mouses)!

Hi all!
Please help me.
sl4fko You say that the file is suitable dv6-6bXX I have a laptop dv6-6b20eo the latest BIOS is F.1C
I tried to flash your moded BIOS using FLA utilite from DOS, but i got mesage this BIOS is not for my laptop.
Is it possible to use this unlocked BIOS for my laptop ?
-
Hi.
I think it SHOULD work, from what I see, your laptop model and BIOS version for it are correct.
Flash the BIOS in Windows environment!
First step is to rename HP_TOOLS partition to any other name, for example HP_TOOLS007.
Then just run the downloaded file and wait. BE PATIENT! Computer will reboot automatically and then just follow onscreen instructions.
Wish you best of luck! -
Uhmmm, and SLIC?

Hello,
Thank you very much for this.
I installed this F.02 modded Bios on my Pavilion DV7-6b50ez and I could install a 7260AC WiFi-Bluetooth card as you.
WiFi and Bluetooth work as long as I do not put the Notebook in sleep mode.
Because as soon as I woke it up the Bluetooth completly disappear. WiFi is ok.
I need to restart the Notebook to get Bluetooth back.
I was wondering if you experience such a pb and if you have an idea how to fix this.
Of course this was working before with Bios F.1B.
Dont worry I do not complain, what you have done is remarquable, thank you. -
Hi!
I have a solution for you as I had a same problem...
Check, that your bluetooth adapter is ON (bluetooth mark colored white, not red), then go to the Device manager. Right-click the Intel Wireless Bluetooth 4.0 Adapter, go to Properties. Click "Power Management" (last tab) and UNCHECK it. Accept the changed setting and it'll work! No more disabled bluetooth! -
I understand to uncheck "Allow computer to switch off this device to save energy" (Sorry This is my translation for this as I am french speaking).
I did it but it doesnot work. Bluetooth disappear after sleep/Wake up. Need to reboot.
I am running W8.1 + update now. Was the same with W8.1.
May be I misunderstand you? -
I finally fix the pb. I isolate (taped) pin 51 of the Intel 7260 AC. Now everything work WiFi and Bluetooth at sleep/wakeup.

You're right. Sorry. Today I tried and what I thought worked really didn't...
I taped the pin and now it really works! Thanks!

I have a question for ya? Will this work for windows 8.1? The whole point of F.1B was to let the wireless button controls work (Pretty much it) and F.1C to optimize memory, but F.1A provides support for systems running Microsoft Windows 8. There is an F.1B on the site, but it is a different SP (SP55068) than what HP has listed (sp59755) and according to HP, my system (dv7-6c64nr) only goes to F.12. (F.02 the original Bios?) What do you think?

I have exactly the same question... I have a dv7-6b70eo Laptop with the lates F.1C bios installed, and i got a 6230 intel wlan modul...and i have the code 702 error... even though its on the modul is on the upgrade list...
Windows 8.1 running on it, and i would like to keep it that way...any idea or solution for that?
Thanks for any help
