I've got a pavilion dv6000 and it's like 1 year old. One day, when i pushed the power pin(power adapter) in the laptops power hole, it made some glints, and so, the laptop now doesn't charge the battery( it recieves no power). I noticed something strange, the hole in the laptop has a weak blue light on(the blue light that is not weak when the power adapter is plugged in).
I took the laptop in a store and they told me that I must change the motherboard, but i don't believe them. I think it's the fault of the usb/power connector.
    Anyone got the same problem?

Did the notebook still work on battery until the battery ran out of power? It doesn't work with the power jack plugged in and the battery removed? If so, you might have just broken the little board that the power jack sits on. Try replacing that first. The store could be right about the motherboard though. You could also have a bad power brick.

Yes, it worked with the battery until the battery ran out of power.
So that couldn't be a motherboard problem, or not?

The power jack and usb port are on a small daughterboard, so if the power jack is busted, it can be replaced without replacing the motherboard (I used to own a dv6233se myself). is there anything visibly wrong with the power jack like the center pin is bent or missing?

The only thing wrong with the power jack is that it has a weak blue light on, it should be off normally( i saw it shut on other dv6000)

The power jack light will always be on if the power adapter is plugged in. If the light is on with the adapter removed, you probably do have a motherboard problem.
