    Hi

In December I bought the HP dv6500 (Intel Core2 Duo 1.5GHz, Intel Mobile 965 Express Graphics and 2GB of RAM). It came loaded with Vista, so I went through the whole process of slipstreaming the SATA driver onto the XP cd and installing XP onto the laptop. I also found all the drivers for XP and installed them. Now I have a few questions:

After applying the XP patch for dual-core CPUs and doing the registry tweak, my PCmark2004 score when I run the 10 system tests is 4660. This seems fine. My 3Dmark2006 score without the Feature and batch size tests is 276. I know that this is not a gaming laptop, but it is supposed to be that low. I have Intel's 14.33.1 driver for the 965 installed.

Also, I have some issues with the DVD-RW. It is a TSSTcorp TS-L632M. My laptop lags a lot when I am for instance watching an avi, etc from a CD. Also, writing a 4.7GB DVD takes about an hour and when I listen to an mp3 while writing a CD or DVD, the sound is very jittery. I believe that this is a Samsung drive. I tried using Samsung's liveupdate, but it tells me that this drive is not supported and I also could not find firmware for it on their site. Can anyone please help me?

    Thanks.
