It's the same thing as the dv6500t, just with silver instead of black on the lid and trim.

We have had the HP Special Editions here at Best Buy for a long time - since the DV1/2/4/5000s - they were never really "Special" editions until they started coming out with the White finishings. And then they *really* became Special when they finally did the *Smart* thing and put freaking Core 2 Duos into those... I to this very day do not understand why they went with Turions when C2Ds are the clear winners (I do not want to get into an argument with anyone as to which one is better). They are great machines and to be honest the only differences (to be exact) between a regular DV6000t and a DV6500SE is:

    -White lid instead of Black
-Keyboard is polished silver (paint) - actually does make a difference when typing
-Comes with a 12 cell battery (this is one thing I am on the fence about - its good in that it provides a longer battery life - but really bad also in the fact that it extends out and DOWN - therefore raising the laptop in the back by quite a bit - also makes it incompatible with MANY cases)
    -Special Edition vista wallpaper

Other than that I think thats really all the difference is... I actually did consider getting the new Special edition with the Core 2 Duos - but the GPU was not what I was looking for - and the funny thing is now Dell has their new Inspiron 1520 laptop which is almost everything that I want in a laptop - and what do you know - it looks *almost* like a DV6000! Oh well... my T60 can handle more abuse than an HP, at least so people say ;)
