I heard about 2-3 hours. I have a 12 Cell, which usually lasts around 5-6 hours.

Ok, then my second question is: I know with the 12 Cell, doesnt it stick out far and the notebook doesnt sit flat. Does it look really bad??

Yes, it does stick out at the bottom, but I don't think it looks that bad. On a desk or flat surface, it slightly props the keyboard, making it more comfortable to type. I've had the laptop on my lap from time to time and the extra portion sticking out due to the battery doesn't really bother me. I think it's up to your personal preferences.

If I buy a new battery in the US for my UK dv6238ea will it be ok? Are there any power supply issues to speak of?

Which processor do you have? I'm debating going AMD or Intel and have heard Intel gets better battery life.

I have bought a DV6700t recently with 6 cell high capacity battery.

How do i know that i have have got 6 cell high capacity as there is no way i can be sure of it?

I called up the HP customer care for some software installation issue and i gave my laptop's serial and product number but they are saying the serial number belongs to DV6500t. I am really worried and i doubt if the battery is 6 cell high capacity or just 6 cell lithium.

    Hi Fant,

Can you please tell me if 6 cell high capacity stick out of the laptop like 12 cell lithium or it fits flat?

How do we know that we have either 6 cell high capacity battery or just 6 cell battery? Expecting your reply.

I have the high capacity 6-cell and get 3 hours also. It doesn't stick out at all, and as far as I know is the same size as the standard 6-cell.

    Thank you so much Jollins...

But on the battery no where it is written that it is high capacity 6-cell. I was a bit confused because of this.

    Standard 6 cell = 4400mAh which is an average of 1:30mins- 2hrs
    High Capacity 6 cell = 5280mAh (20% more than standard) 1:30 - 2:30mins
    Extended 12cell battery = 8800mAh 3-5hrs

Battery life varies depending on what program your running, what brightness, wireless and BT on or off.. so and so...

Dont believe what the manufacturers rate their batterys at. 3hrs on standard battery pfft...
