    Hello,

    I have a problem when I logging into Vista: Every time after I enter my password, the login window fade into darkness, but this black-screen lasts for about 1 minute before I can see the desktop. Any one knows why I'm having this problem?

    Thanks =)

    i had this problem too...
    disable User Account Control and it should go away:
    to disable user account control:
    1. click the start orb
    2. click on your account picture
    3. in the left hand sidebar, click "turn user account control on or off"
    4. follow the prompts shown on screen
    5. restart and the black screen should go away

    I have a similar problem. After I enter my password, the screen goes white and stays white for a couple of seconds with the little circle icon spinning and then eventually my desktop appears. Sometimes it can be a very long time. Just wondering if its a defect or just another vista bug.

    i had the same problem this morning, after i enter the password the screen fades. There is some disk activity, but it justs hangs in this state. I believe there was a Vista "update" last night, great........

    Let me know if it fixes the problem. Where can I find it?
