    Hey,

I just recently bought a new HP Pavilion dv6815nr - Turion 64 X2 TL-60 2 GHz Laptop online, its working fine except for when I put in a CD. The CD rom begins to spin and it makes a loud sound similiar to a fan. This didn't happen until about 2 days afterwards. I also noticed an increase in installation times with my games, for example: I installed Company of Heroes the first day, installed in roughly 5 minutes or so. Oblivion was even less, now I'm installing Age of Conan and its been over 3 hours and its just hitting around 70%. Anyways, I was just wondering if my disk drive was damaged somehow or if this is typical, and Age of Conan is a 32 gig game, so the installation time is expected. I've got about 10 days to return it, and if this is broken, there is no point in owning it. I'm a highschool kid who saved up 700 bucks and it would be a rather large loss.

I think I figured it out, the Age of Conan discs are quite thick, maybe the cause of the loud humming. I ran a couple DVDs and they didn't make a sound so its not an issue with the drive. Well it did finally finish installing, 4 hours later. Now its patching for 30 minutes. Great. Spent a whole afternoon off work sitting and stressing out about my laptop. I do have one concern, I put in my CoH cd, which when I installed it it ran smoothly, and it also made a loud humming noise. I have a year left of warranty but the return policy is 14 days no questions asked.
