Going by the reviews and pictures, ordered the laptop and received it yesterday. Following are my observations:

The dark umber looks nice, but is a fingerprint magnet like everyone says.
HP did a bad job with it's quality control. When I pick up the laptop and carry it, it makes alot of creaking noises from everywhere. When i hold it with one hand by the rear side of the laptop in between where the two hinges are, the laptop bends beneath and makes creaking noise.

The silver aluminium surrounding the base is not properly aligned. At some point, there are huge gaps between that aluminium lining and the keyboard.

The small left speaker on the front, looks like a little bulged and doesnt look the same as the right.

The tackpad mouse buttons, the left button is set higher than the right. So its not even.

The keyboard looks a little raised in the middle (G and H keys). When looked from a horizontal keyboard level, I can see a bulge in the area of those two keys.

I can live with the above flaws, but it speaks a lot about HP's QC or the lack thereof.

By the way, can anyone tell me if the lid and the aluminium color strip are real aluminium or are they plastic?

RE: silver aluminium surrounding the base
Plastic ... and I believe all other metal surfaces are really just clad over plastic.
