I am able to grab this system for $800 and wanted to get some unput on hos it would perform. I am not high on laptop/pc knowledge and would just want to use this for some gaming but the majority of it for surfing the internet etc...

Games I would hope to play on it would be like Modern Warfare 2.

Is the system itself a good buy with what it offers and what is the average shelf life this type of laptop can give me before I would have to look at replacing?

You wouldn't want GeForce GT 320M if you want to play Modern Warfare 2 unless you don't mind playing the game on low resolution&graphic options.
