Been waiting and checking for something to appear, and they are here, even though somewhat sparse at this time of writing.

    Windows 8 64bit drivers for HP Pavilion dv6t and dv6z series 70XX and 71XX.

Basically the new 72XX series is just a Pavilion rebadged as an Envy,no doubt the hardware is exactly the same. I will post a driver link to their support site once found.

Or even grab some drivers from the dv7 for your dv6, looks the same set as the above link BIOS likely diffence. Better still if you have a dv7, here they are :)

The Intel HD Graphics driver is available here (version 15.28.7.64.2867) - http://downloadmirror.intel.com/22019/a08/win64_15287.exe. You will need to install this before installing the NVIDIA graphics driver.

For notebooks with NVIDIA graphics, you can download and install the 306.97 drivers available here - Drivers | GeForce

AMD-based notebooks will have to wait for HP to release an updated graphics driver package that supports Windows 8.

I'm currently trying to get all of the compatible Windows 8 drivers up in this thread for the Intel-based notebooks - http://forum.notebookreview.com/hp-...6-7xxx-dv7-7xxx-m7-1xxx-intel-ivy-bridge.html. I'll be updating it quite often as more information becomes available.

Nope. I'm just good at finding drivers through the HP support and FTP sites (along with the help of others, of course). Been doing it for years. ;)

I can usually extract most of the driver packages that are put up to make sure that they are compatible with the specific notebook components in question.

    hi

I have an HP Pavilion DV6 6053 and I am going to download the Windows 8 tomorrow. Probably I will go for a clean install and keep what files I can. I have made the back up that Windows runs.

    I have a question :

Where do I go to get the drivers etc for Windows 8 ? there is a whole load of things from beats audio to graphics, mouse pad etc. It would be great if there was just one big file to download based on machine you bought.

For your notebook model, take a look at this thread - http://forum.notebookreview.com/hp-...dv7-6xxx-envy-14-2xxx-envy-17-2xxx-intel.html

I'm also thinking about packaging all of the Windows 8 drivers into one large file; let me know if you guys are interested.

Thanks very much, I am in the process of checking out that URL you posted. Putting all the drivers etc in one large file would save a lot of headache. I had lots of hassle looking for things that didn't work with the various pre releases of Windows 8 and being able to look up 1 file would be awesome.
