Yes, it supports SATA III, DVD drive is however on SATA II.

It supports SATA III, apparently, older versions too (II).

    Thanks sl4fko and prebuss

so does that mean i can put in a Samsung 830 or Crucial M4, and bring the full potential speed of these SSDs as they are both SATA IIIs??

That's right. Further more, you can buy this and install your hard drive in a caddy and place it in your laptop as a second hard drive instead of a DVD drive.

Wow, I didn't even know that it is possible to replace dvd drive to another HDD, great idea, I might be interested in this

So to get better performance, I should use SSD disk in a standard place (SATA III) and instead of dvd rom put my HDD?

EDIT. Just found out that in HP 6bxx manual is written: "Supports 160-GB solid-state drive". What if I'd buy 256 GB SSD? The laptop wouldn't support it or something?

    Right again :D

Use SSD as a system drive and regular HDD as a storage disk (movies, photos, games, etc.)

Never heard for such limitation... I think every SSD should work...
