    Hi,

How is the beats audio on the HP dv6 ?
How are the speaker and the sound quality ?

And how does it compare to DELL XPS 15 ??

You really need to consider a 17" w/ subwoofer if audio is important. The 17" Dell/JBL sound great. The dv7tqe sound is very acceptable. The dv6tqe is better than the average laptop in terms of speaker sound, but not by a whole lot, unless you are willing to go the headphone route. None are going to be a replacement for larger, full range speakers, but you could squeak by with the 17"s in a pinch.

The dell XPS 15 also have a subwoofer which isn't that bad and at least it is noticeable to hear it going off than the dv7 6xxx.

As the sound from the dv6 6xxx is just better placed and a bit of an improvement from the previous generation.

It's not that great, but the beats software does improve it a good amount. Just make sure you turn it off for gaming because it sounds like crap for anything but music.

    I don't have my DV6 yet.

Just pointing out that laptops will ALWAYS SOUND TERRIBLE, there is no way around this really. It is just a matter of what is barely acceptable. The main thing is if it is loud enough for playing movies/ MP3's / music without headphones and still hear it on a plane flight, or in bed without headphones.

Best scenario is you can actually hear the movie and still follow the dialogue. I'm pretty sure you can get this with the dv6, the dv7 has a subwoofer and that might help a bit without headphones, the thing is that the best laptop speakers in the world are going to sound crappy. Even the Dell XPS, which I have read is the best, it's still going to be all about the LAPTOP SPEAKERS, and even the Best of the Best, they are still going to be crappy, disappointing compared to good headphones and/or good computer monitors. Just saying...

TL/DR Quality sound is totally situational and don't really expect amazing sound from any laptop without headphones or external speakers

So the dv6 sound is not as good as XPS 15 right ?
but is there a huge difference ?

Also , just considering dv6 , is its sound great for a laptop ?

When directly comparing the speakers between the dv6 and the XPS 15, it is a pretty big difference.

But the dv6 has better specs than the XPS 15, the only thing missing is the backlit keyboard and the touchscreen option.

I wasn't aware that the XPS15 also had a sub-woofer. Now these sub-woofers on the laptops are not what you would normally consider a sub-woofer, but they do significantly help in the overall audio experience.
