    I have a
    HP Pavilion 9000 laptop
    AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Technology Tl-56 1.80 GHz
    2GB RAM
Vista Home Premium 32bit OS (came preinstalled, and have a recovery dvd)

I have uninstalled my Vista many times to try and downgrade to Windows XP sp2. It always goes through, but the internet and sound never work, and I guessed I needed to download drivers, but without internet how is that possible? I downloaded drivers from the HP website and put them on my external harddrive and tried that, but no go. I tried using my recovery dvd to locate drivers, but that doesnt work, it's like bootable kind of dvd only not sure how to explain it. I've read around that buying an XP recovery disc would do what I would want hassle free, but is there a working way without having to buy one of those discs?

They all use similar hardware. Just go from there.

The dv9000t should be using the Intel Pro 100/10 or the Pro 1000/100/10 ethernt from Intel. Hp has the drivers necessary on the downloads page for the dv900t or you can download them direct from Intel.

I've tried the ones from HP both /100 and /1000 with no luck. All I can see in the device manager is a 1394 Network adapter but that doesn't even exist.
