Well ive searched all around and tried countless things but im still having over heating issues. This is really my last resort.

While playing WoW the FPS is from 15-65. When it cools off, ill get a great FPS and can play it fine but it will quickly heat up and drop for 20-30 minutes at a time. Right now im using a cooling pad but it doesnt help much at all except to give me that 45-60 FPS time for about 5 minutes. The bottom gets so hot at times it can literally burn my skin, I have a couple of marks to prove it.

Anyone that has any info would just be my savior when it comes to this laptop.

    Thanks.

    Check out this site/post: http://hplies.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=9

I have a DV9500t and I sometime experience the same thing. I can play WoW for probably a half hour to a hour though before it gets really hot, but it doesn't get so hot that I can't have it on my lap, so long as I'm wearing jeans.

Do you have a dv9000 with an nvidia 7600 or a dv9500 with an 8400m gs / 8600m gs? I think you need to clean out your fans though and replace the thermal paste. Download Hwmoniter and tell us your graphics cards idle temperatures and gaming temperatures. I dont know my load temperatures but my idle is 48°C
