    Hello all,

I have got a Pavilion dv9525 model with GeForce, Realtek and Intel Wifi. Could it be possible to Instal Win XP on this machine, since it has a slow and User un-friendly GUI VISTA on it?

Has anyone did this before? The only problem might be with Driver s for XP.

    BR,

    Martin.

I haven't gone back to XP. But have you tried using the vista tweaks guide?

I printed the whole lot of pages few hours ago, but I hardly hope it will help... It has 1Gb RAM.. 1.x Ghz Intel. Anyway, the thing is I just want XP, it does not need a tweak manual and a hot USB stick in side of my pc :)

I hope someone has tried to put XP on this kind of DV ... share the story :)

Yea, I know, but before I buy an extra RAM, I want to be sure, that XP is not an option here.

Maybe there are some 3rd party drivers for video, wifi and audio.

What is the exact model of your laptop, dv9525us, en or eo...

I think it's completely doable. The procedure will be similar to what I have outlined here for the Compaq C762NR. (my website seems to be down at the moment, but it will be back up)

You can get my driver pack here http://www.mediafire.com/?2lwpx2ny4gt
That will have the correct Intel chipset drivers, and the Microsoft UAA fix file in it. You will undoubtedly need to use the microsoft UAA fix in that Zip file BEFORE you try to install the drivers for audio and modem.

#1... MAKE SURE YOU UPDATE YOUR BIOS TO THE LATEST HERE:

You can get the video drivers from www.nvidia.com
You can get the audio drivers from Realtek

You can chat w/ an HP support agent here, who may be able to get you to the proper drivers for your wifi and ethernet. They helped me out with a couple of XP drivers for my machine.
If you can get the exact description of the Wifi from your device manager you can probably get the right intel driver here by clicking network connectivity > intel mobile adapters.

    Get the quicklaunch buttons here
Get the Synaptics touchpad drivers here

    I don't know if there's anything else you'll need but I think that's it.

My site is down, I really don't understand why. It's hosted on my friend's box and I can't seem to get ahold of him.

    I do apologize.

as far as the HP9000 question, I am unsure if anyone has tried or not.

The SATA drivers, I DL'd an XPSP3 ISO with the intel SATA drivers pre-integrated. Just search around you'll find them
