Hi, I found this thread REALLY REALLY helpful, I was looking for a reliable source that said I could indeed upgrade to 4gb, and after lots of googling this thread appeared :D. I have the dv9535nr laptop and initially I just wanted to upgrade to 4gb of RAM, I'm running Windows 7 x64 and plan to buy the 64 version. Well long story short, this thread made me want to upgrade my processor as well, the thing is that I realized there are two types, OEM and retail, with a huge difference in pricing, I've read a some about these, but I wanted to ask you guys, should I go retail or OEM, will I need the heatsink or warranty?

Another thing, what should I buy in order to upgrade my laptop, is it "only" the processor and my 4gb of memory? By the way, what type of memory should I buy if I get the t8300? I remembere reading somewhere that the type of memory changes for this processor.

Hopefully this thread is still "alive"

    Thanks!

    :D!!!!!!!!

I couldn't be any happier :D! Today, I called my tech guy and upgraded my 9535nr! I've got T9300 processor, and 4gb, plus windows 7 RC and is absolutely awesome! Applications launch much more faster, and I even got my fan working again (lots of dust made it to stop working, strange thing is, it never turned off due to heat)!

I love my notebook once again haha, definitely recommeded to upgrade!

Well, its been almost a year since anyone has posted to this thread but I am hoping that someone will look at this and will be able to help me out.

I have the dv9535nr, I did the upgrade with a T9300 and 4gb. I am running windows 7 hp 64bit. While my laptop was still in its factory form, I upgraded from vista 32 to windows 7 64 with no problems. I did the upgrade and followed the HP maintenance guide to the t. After getting it back together, everything works awesome except (yep, there had to be an except) the speakers. I have gone through and rechecked all of my connections, took it apart and put it all back together twice now and the speakers just buzz really really loudly. I reinstalled the sound drivers, I re-flashed the bios, and I even bought new speakers. I tried the headphone jack as well and they dont buzz, but if I unmute the speakers, the headphone sound doesnt buzz, but the speakers do buzz. Almost sounds like a little engine running. Can anyone help out? Thanks!
