Hi There Everyone! So here is my problem... I just got Hp Pavilion dv9700 notebook and it doesn't want to boot. I receive an error "Operating system not found". I tried to use my Acronis Disk Director on a bootable CD to format the hard disk drive but I was suprised it didn't find any hard drive... So I took my Windows7 installation disk. Inserted it inside. The files are loading, I've got the win7 startup logo and everthing till I encounter a window where I must choose where to install my system - then the same - no hard disk are available to pick. I've got the option "Load drivers" but I don't have them anywhere...
And I almost forgot - when I run the hard disk test in BIOS i get back a message "No IDE found" and booting from a DVD succeeds only about 1/10 times - 9/10 times I have "operating system not found"
So could somebody help me out with this?

Never had needed drivers (yet) on a clean install. Surely there are no external drives plugged in??? Just happened to me today. It was trying to boot from the USB. And make sure it's trying to boot from the HDD in the BIOS. May have checked already as you seem pretty competent, but just checking.

You say you just got the 9700. Did you open the covers on the bottom and make sure there are hard drives installed? If there is only one installed, make sure its in the primary drive slot (under the cover with the vents), and that it is connected properly.
