    Hi all,

I bought a new HP pavilion zd8000 a couple of weeks ago. I bought it from Italy and since I returned back to Malta it would be quite a problem to return it back although still under warranty. Presario and Pavilion notebooks are not covered by HP international warranty here in Malta.
I am really happy with it but it has one problem. When plugged on AC power or on battery and try to power up the notebook, all keyboard lights are lit but the screen is dead. After switching the notebook off and try to power it on a second time, its lights up normally and functions without any other problem.
I have not found any other problems other than this one. Could anybody help?
    Thanks

I read something earlier it could have to do with the hibernation/standby settings. If you "power down", I believe the laptop can either power completely off or stay in standby/hibernation mode.
