Does anyone know how to access the full BIOS feature set? As it is, I'm only presented with a very few options when entering the BIOS. This is infuriating. I've written HP support about it -- look at this laughable answer:

"I would like to say that due to advance technology of the BIOS, the
setting and resources will assigned automatically to the Hardware. The
older BIOS has more settings to configure manually the Hardware devices
and to assign the proper IRQ's and resources etc.., The New BIOS will
automatically, assigned all the resources. The latest BIOS are user
friendly. This information should help you."

    How arrogant!

    GRRR.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hey Jason,
Many users have reported the same frustration. I built my last two computers and loved tweaking BIOS settings for better stability and performance. Apparently, HP prefers to limit the amount of enjoyment users are permitted to experience. I have flashed the BIOS of my zx5078cl three or four times now and have not found a version that permits access to any settings other than the lame settings we currently have access to.

Incidentally, the zx5000 series is marketed under a different name by a different company in Taiwan (the ghost manufacturer?). The name escapes me right now. But I wonder if they produce an uncrippled BIOS for their users. That'd be a dangerous experiment that might just pay off (or not!).

This is part of the buyer's remorse we must endure when we purchase proprietary devices.

i Believe the manufacterer of the Zx5000 is Compal Computer.

Or ODM as they are more commonly called.
