Hi there, Can anyone advise, please?
Due to the constraints of an insurance claim, I am now choosing between two HP Pavilion models: the ZV5368, with a Pentium 4 3GHz processor, and the EVO NX9105, with an AMD3200 processor (apparently this gives 1.8GHz). All the other specs are the same, I believe, but the one with the Pentium chip is slightly more expensive. I don't do gaming or graphics - just use DVDs, play/download music, and ordinary Internet browsing. Will I really notice the difference between these two models with their different chips, or can I safely go for the cheaper one (the AMD 3200)?
    Thanks for any help!

I think you mean Athlon 64 3200+, which is a 2GHz CPU (and roughly equivalent to a 3.2GHz Pentium 4, performance-wise). Between the better CPU in the EVO and the likelyhood of the zv5368 having weak shared memory graphics (versus a dedicated memory GPU in the EVO), it's no contest. You'll get better battery life from the EVO too.

Aha - you really know your onions... Thank you! And battery life is a factor, actually. So, good, the AMD chip it is. FYI, I was informed that the ZV5368 has 128 Mg of dedicated graphics memory (if that's the right way to put that!) - but who knows? Anyway, thanks again.

Yes, for the same price I would also, recommend the AMD, as when a version of windows comes out for the mainstream that is 64bit compatible this will be able to use it and thus be usuable just a little while longer.
