So this has been going on a long time, since i got the notebook.

When i leave it alone it will freeze/hang. the screen will go into screensaver, and when i move the mouse screensaver goes away and i get the desktop back, but i cant click on anything. sometimes in this state the mouse is in the circular vista waiting state, sometimes not. At that point I am screwed. I have to power down by holding the power button down.

At first I thought it was mozy, i uninstalled that. i have set the power options to do nothing when plugged in. and i have uninstalled anything that seems superfluous... still no good.

    Any thoughts much appreciated.
    thanks

Go to Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Event Viewer -> Custom
Views -> Administrative Events. Look for errors around the time of the
freeze to see if you can glean anything there. Post what you have there, also what GUP are you running.
