    Hello

    I have a Pavilion DV6662se laptop recently

purchased, It came with Vista Home premium, i

installed windows Vista Ultimate x64. I notice I

have a Hp recovery partition, I'm wanting to

revert back to factory premium. I read some

information on what to do unfortunately under

start all programs there is no option for

starting the windows recovery process. I tried

the f8 option on start up but there is no option

there either for restoration. f10 also is

    useless.Help please. It's frustrating having a 7

gig hp recovery partition that i can do nothing

    with or acess.

The issue you are having is not HP's fault. When you installed a new OS, Vista Ultimate, you modified the Boot Sector information which now prevents you from using F11 to start the recovery process. You also may have removed all your original software on your primary partition and drivers depending on how you installed/upgraded the OS.

The easiest way to recover is to use the recovery DVD's, hopefully you made them, before you upgraded your OS.

    Edit:
You could read the info in this post and give it a try, don't know if it will work or not. Obviously you can't save the MBR you how have so the only thing you could do is the last paragraph and try and re-install a downloaded copy of the posters MBR.:
