Ok, So I made ahuge mistake by even thinking about buying this laptop. I purchased it with so many accessories and car adapters.. and what not..
Anyway, I got this laptop with a locked D: Drive, unfortunately I haven't ead the sticky guide about formatting this laptop. I didn't like the way HP partitioned the drives.. so like all of you would probably do, get the drivers, make sure you have all the drivers burn em on cd.. format and partition it the way you like install windows and boom you are all set.. right? WRONG!
I installed my windows xp pro retail version I had. and NONE, I repeat, NONE of the drivers displayed on hp supports page matches the media on my system! it's amazing, the only drivers I actually got are for the Wireless Broadcom Nic Card (I found the drivers through a previous link someone here posted for someone else having problems with that laptop - way to go!)
Anyway, I called HP and they said "WE DO NOT HAVE ANY DRIVERS AVAILABLE FOR THIS LAPTOP"... basically I'm screwed.. I like this laptop (when it has drivers) since it's an Amd dual core.. but I have NO drivers for nothing... this pisses me off so bad....
I have read this thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=59471
and I was wondering, god almighty, if anyone has the c:\SwSetup folder for the DV2000Z model !? I honestly thought HP have an organized list of drivers.. but apparently they SUCK!
The funny thing is in the post:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=61691&page=2 the user: VASSIL_98 posted a link to the broadcam WLan drivers for the V2000Z model, and it worked on my laptop..
Here is a Snap shot of the drivers I still need if anyone can be help, I would appreciate it, I wouldn't mind paying an amount for helping me out with my drivers.

Have you checked this link? http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?lc=en&cc=us&lang=en&dlc=en&product=3177437&os=228#
At least, HP has HD audio driver right now. Customer support knows as least as you do. -
Windows Update is another good tool.
-
Thanks to both of you. The audio drivers posted in HP's website is wrong. Does not work.. However When I did the windows Update It automatically installed many of my drivers.
One of them is Unknown Human Interface Device (?)
I have no idea what hardware that might be.
2nd is my Nvidia Geforce GO 6150 - I have tried everything... nothing seems to work. (i tried all Gefore drivers from nvidia, and those didnt work as well)
and 3rd is a Coprocessor - what is that !? Iv'e been trying to google for it, but no results with any good information.
Thanks for the help.
Here is a snap of the device manager so far:
-
The Human Interface Device seem to be the touchpad. Try installing the Synaptics touchpad driver from http://www.synaptics.com .
The Co processor and the video are most likely the chipset and video card. If you are trying to install from Nvidia's website you"ll need the modded inf's. http://www.laptopvideo2go.com has the requisite inf's and those should install properly. -
OK, I will definately try it.
How do you know those modded drivers are for my chipset though? -
Ok The "Unknown Device" was the PCI dial up modem...
The Coprocessor is still unknown, my best bet is the AMD Turion Mobile 64 Dual Core chipset ?!
Or would anyone else think otherwise?
I contacted hp and they don't know.. -
i have a dv2000z as well, what exactly is and isnt working that would be the easiest for me. or i guess i could try and give you my folder...?
-
Let me know. -
Do you have any messengers I can contact you on?
I sent you mine in a private message!
Thanks ! -
This worked on my dv2000z:
first go to hp's website and download the nforce drivers "SP33031.EXE"
install the executable.
you will get an error message saying that its only compatible with windows xp x64. Just click OK and then exit.
after that follow the below steps:
1. go to device manager
2. right-click on coprocessor
3. click on update software driver
4. click on browse my computer for software driver.
5. in the search field just type in "c:\" ONLY.
it will take a little while for it to find it, but should find it. no garentees, but this is how i got mine to find it. its called the "NVIDIA nForce system management controller." Let me know if this works anyone.
