    Hello,
My problem is like this, I bought the computer and it came full of programs that only were there to slow down the computer and since I had a Windows 7 32bits Pro version with me, I formatted almost all the disk, only left a partition named HP Tools, which is about 100mb big. The thing is, I had travel finding some drivers and stuff, but I think I've got most of it taken care of, specially after finding a sticky post in this forum with a lot of help, but the only problem is that now, to use the keyboard functions which you would have to press FN + F2 (lower the brightness), now you only have to press F2. The thing is also the image saying you are lowering the sound doesn't appear, so basically there's some kind of software/driver missing for the keyboard itself, seems that it is limbered atm. Help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Regards

    Two things

The sound icon in the middle of the screen doesnt appear cause you probably didnt reinstall hp mediasmart thingy, thats the thing that makes it appear.

There is another application 3RVX which uses lesser resources and is customizable

About the fn keys + fn..

There is a setting in the bios..

Press f10 after starting your laptop, there should be a setting known as active keys or something, enabling disabling sets how the fn key works..
Enabled means f1(lets say it has brightness lower) will decrease brightness normally and you need to press f1+fn to get f1. If you disable it, it means f1 is f1 and f1+fn decreases brightness..

    Hope that helps.
