    Hi,

For the past few days I've been having a serious problem with my track/touchpad. It's become very jumpy and at times it stays stuck on the right side and I'm unable to move it from left to right.

I downloaded the updated driver, but it didn't help so I went back the original one. The touchpad has become very frustrating and hard to use. Can anyone help me out? Thank you.

Sounds like your touchpad might be starting to fail. I had a DV6000 so I know a lot of heat generates on that touchpad as the memory and wifi chip is right under it. There is a chance that it could've just been dirty and some oil got on it. I would use some disinfect cleaner that is computer safe and try cleaning it. Maybe that could help it. Or you could go to the drivers options and adjust the sensitivity of the touchpad.

Yeah it seems hotter than usual. I've tried cleaning it and the sensitivity adjusting only made it worse. Unfortunately I think it's the first one.

Yeah, I would just assume your touchpad is gone then. Mine used to be unresponsive when it got heated up but I just let it cool down and it started working again. Maybe you let yours heat up for too long of a period of time and it got permanently damaged.

I guess so. The weird thing is it works absolutely fine in safe mode but when I use it in regular mode that's when it's jumpy.
