Hi I have a HP DV600TX with 1.6GHZ T5200 Duo 533MHz CPU. I want to upgrade this to something a bit faster seeing as CPU's are real cheap on ebay.

What CPU's are compatable? Any Meroms? It has a i945PM chipset. Will the T7200 be ok?

    Any help would be great!!

    Many Thanks.

Why do you think you need to upgrade the CPU? What kind of applications are you running on your PC? Where is the general slowdown?

For that computer, look for any cheap Socket M CPU.

Make sure that your computer isn't overheating.

You can try check the temperatures with a free program called HWMonitor first.

Open it up, clean out the dust. Possibly reapply thermal paste.
