Hi to everyone, my name is Paolo and I'm writing from Italy. Please excuse my english and, if it's possible, try to reply with simple words so I can perfectly understand your suggestions.

I have a HP Pavillion DV9252EU which doesn't turn on. The problem is not linked to the AC Power supply because I'm sure it works well. I think the motherboard is gone but I'm not sure of this. It could be a CPU's problem or something else. So I'm here to ask you which tests I can perform to certainly understand which component is broken.
I've al type of tools (electrical tester, small screwdrivers, desoldering etc.) so I can perform quite all type of tests.
The second question is the following: if I will be able to isolate the broken component, where can I buy a new one on the internet (on-line store with good quality-price ratio).
Thanks to all for your replies.

    Paolo

Hi. You said it does not turn on. Is it completely dead?, no lights or noises?
If there are lights and noises then which ones? Can you hear the hard drive? the cooling fan?

If there are noises like the hard drive and the lights on the laptop come on (power light and hard drive light) but no screen, it could be a faulty GPU. The GPU, graphics chips, were bad on a lot of these DV9xxx series. I should know, I have a DV9774ca that had the GPU die and I replaced the motherboard with a refurbished one off ebay.

It could be anything, really. Does it do anything when you try to turn it on? Does the charging light come on? Did anything stop working before the whole computer did? The details are the answer :)
