    Hello,

I have been reading a bunch of information regarding the downgrading of Vista to XP and I am still having troubles. I have an HP Pavillion DV9838CA laptop that came pre-installed with Vista Home version. I have already made my recovery disk and would like to Load my licensed copy of XP Pro. I downloaded all of the required drivers and changed the boot order in the bios to CD-Rom first. When it trys to install XP it gives an error that it cannot find the hard drive. I have read about the SATA issue and some fixes for that as well but my bios does not let me see or change anything to do with SATA. How do I start the process? Do I blow away the partition from inside Vista (computer management)? Or do I need an XP start up disk? My notebook does not have a floppy disk so I am unsure of my next step. Can anyone help me?

    Thanks in advance,

    Jamie
