I, personally, don't like the left/right clicker buttons on HP Pavillion notebooks, such as the DV6500 series. I prefer the harder clickers, not the soft ones. What do you think?

Same here, I ve use a friend's before. They sink in too much and they're too soft I think! My B3800's are much better! :)

I actually kinda like the way they are...so soft and fluffy... so quiet..
Plus, I only use the touch pad's tap-click feature rather than using the click buttons...

Not when you right click ;)

They are quiet, I'll give them that much.

I actually ended up buying an HP, but for about 3 weeks, I wasn't even considering them because of the touchpad buttons...

I was used to the firmer dell buttons, but after using my HP for a few days, I've grown to like them...that and I use an external mouse 80% of the time anyway :)

Actually, you can do tap-right click on the touch pad by defining one small particular area (any four corners of the tapping zones) for that function...hehe... :D

i just tap the touchpad for left click, i only use the buttons for rt click, though i'm mostly using a mouse. my acer has the hard clickers so i was used to it, but these are quiet so thats a positive.

well, you can customize the tap zones to pretty much any functions you want.
    Just go to
    "Control Panel"
    "Mouse"
    "Device Settings"
    "Settings..."
Then expand "Tapping" (Click on "+" sign)

first of all, check "Enable Tapping"
    then check "Enable TapZones"
Then from there you choose which corner can do what kind of mouse function, like right click, double click, Go back a page, etc... tons of choices...

You can also define the size of the Tap Zones, just click on "TapZone Sizes", then drag the little black box at the corner to move around...

    Try it, it's awesome!

[This Might Be A Double Post]

Yes, just go to "Control Panel", then "Mouse", then "Device Settings", click on "Settings..."
Expand the "Tapping" section (click the "+" sign)
    First, check "Enable Tapping"
Next, Click on "Tap Zones", and check "Enable Tap Zones"
then below, you can find the 4 corners of the tap zones which you can then define which mouse function you would like...

You can also define the sizes of the tap zones, click "Tap Zone Sizes"
you can then drag and move the little black boxes around to fit your need..

Try it, it's awesome, have fun!

I find the glossy touchpad to be absolutely HORRIBLE. Anyone else agree? Maybe it just takes some getting used to, but I find it near impossible to precisely move the cursor in anything resembling a smooth and precise motion.
