My HP Pavillion labtop LCD screen gets dim when it is running on AC. When I unplug the AC and the laptop is running on DC, the screen is much brighter. Any advice to get a brighter screen when running on AC. Thanks.

    Usually its the opposite...

So when you have your screen set to max brightness on AC, and you pull out the power plug it actually gets brighter? That's really weird.

If you mean battery/plugged in, there are fn buttons to change the brightness.

Yep... that's exactly what I noticed happening to my HP last evening... pulling out the ac power made the screen dim - which was kindda strange. I used the fn brite^ key to increase the brightness while the pc was on AC power and now its all the same - whether on AC or on battery.

It keeps two different power schemes AC/Battery which contains the level of brightness of the screen.

Thanks a lot for your help. I use the fn brite^ and LCD is bright even in the AC mode.
