Hi all, I'm new user in here.
I just got my new laptop HP Pavillion dv2777tx 2 days ago.

Below is the list of specs:-
    Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 2.1GHz | 2GB RAM | 250GB Hdd | 14.1'' LCD | HD DVD Rom | Fingerprint | Webcam | nVidia GeForce 8400M GS | Wifi & Bluetooth | Remote Control | WINDOWS VISTA HOME PREMIUM (32-bit)

After I installed Windows Vista SP1, the boot up time from BIOS until AVG Antivirus fully loaded is more than 1 minute before SP1. I'm panic about that.
My system is clean and just installed 2 program which is Firefox and AVG Antivirus.

I wonder why my system goes slow like this, after SP1. I thought my system is good enough to handle Windows Vista, but it's still cannot handle it as well as i prefer to.

After this problem was occurred to me, I searched many review on 'Windows Vista SP1 Lag Boot Up', and most of them said that SP1 is having some bugs on it and they are having same problem with me. I start to accept it slowly.

I know according to release notes after updating to SP1 you should see a increase in boot up and shut down time. If after a few days the system doesn't go back to about the same amount of boot up and shut down time then I would check to make sure there are not any problems with the install.

try unistalling and reinstalling sp1, but only after you have waited, as anonHP stated, a few days for your boot time to improve
I would say if you have not seen improvement in a week or two go ahead and uninstall and reinstall it all depends on how long you wish to wait to see improvement
also be warry of online comments and certian sites
sp1 solves a lot of the original issues with vista
I have been using sp1 and no issues since release

That's why I always tell people to wait 4-6 months after a Service Pack comes out before they install it. There are always bugs in Microsoft's Service Packs, and unless you are a techie and want to test or see how the Service Pack works, don't install unless you are a risk taker.

I have no idea with this.
Envision, should I continue running on SP1 or uninstall it? According to reaperDARKWOLF replied, Vista with SP1 solve lots of issues with previous Vista.
Or have any other way to improve my current performance to make it better?

I still haven't installed SP1 on my machine yet and it's running fine. Yes SP1 fixes a lot of known issues, but at what cost? I still haven't installed Service Pack 3 for XP on my laptop because I don't want to deal with the possible frustrations that could be involved.

You can try uninstalling SP1 if you want, but sometimes I've had problems uninstalling a Service Pack and had to reinstall the entire OS. You could also just stick it out and wait for them to come up with an update for the Service Pack. It's really up to you on how you want to handle it.

Windows XP SP3 not stable enough, I tried before, it just like Vista SP1. I think you could use retore point so that you don't have to reinstall the entrie OS. Thanks for your advice.
