Ok i have an HP pavillion zv5000 laptop. The problem im having with it is as soon as i start up the computer it will not go into windows. When i went into bios to check everything I did a hdd test on it and it gave me 04 fail what does that mean? Do i need to install a new hard drive or something?

could mean many thing... it could mean the hard drive is broken, or there are some bad sectors. You can try reinstalling windows and reformat the HDD before doing the install. and if the clean windows install doesn't work then you might need a neew hdd.

If ur HDD test gives a 1C-07, 10008 or a 10009 error, quickly call up HP and ask for a FREE replacement. You are eligible for a free replacement if you are IN WARRANTY.
