My laptop came with this software and was curious if it is of any use. I tried to uninstall ProtectTools but it was unable to stop the process to complete the uninstall. I found I can disable Intel AMT in device manager. Is that the best way to disable AMT? I am trying to free up resources and uninstall whats not needed. Thx for any input!

Found out that the HP Protecttools causes a slow bootup in Vista. Unisalled it and it goes into the OS MUCH faster. Not sure about the AMT still.

The best way to uninstall programs that Windows says are still running and it can't stop is to boot into safemode.
