    HP Protectsmart won't enable :S

    Make sure you have it installed then shake your laptop a bit, usual the HDD indicator light will change from a flickering light to a solid, different colored light

    I dont think I have it installed and can't find the software anywhere


    I have a HP DV6-3064CA

    Press Win X on the keyboard to access the Mobility Center and see if you can enable/disable it that way. If you don't think it's installed, look in your hard drive for a folder named swsetup; there should be a folder named HPProtSHD. All the HP software that came with your laptop should be in swsetup.

    The program is there but for some odd reason, it still wont enable. I even reinstalled it and it still wont enable

    Samsung HM641JI ATA device [I think thats what you want]

    Its weird though, my brother has the identical laptop, we bought both at the same time and his is enabled
