    Hello All
I am in the market for a new desk-top replacement notebook(P4 with DVD burner). I was wondering how good HP quality really is and how its warranrty and technical support stands? I also would appreciate any personal input that anybody might have in regard to HPZD310CA. If anyone has any other recommendations HP or otherwise I am listening [ :)]
    thank you

From my experience I can say that the HP quality is outstanding. I have a second laptop from them and I have yet to find an issue of any kind. No dead pixels, no technical failures, no stability issues. They work absolutely smoothly since day one. Even all the rubber feet are still there (people complain that they fall off on some other manufacturer's notebooks). Given that HP's cost WAY less than other brands, I wonder how they manage to achieve the quality I've seen.

I currently own a zv5000z and the computer is very nicely built. The fan is nicely placed on the side and hardly run, and when it does, you can't hardly notice it. The battery life is quite good for a desktop replacement and the overall price to quality is excellent. Definitely would be buying an HP again.

Ditto both thietlong's and zeanimal2001's comments. If you're not into current-generation 3D games (Doom 3, etc), the zv5000z is a great machine for getting work done. I've been lugging mine to campus lately, getting 3-4 hours of battery life depending on how high I've cranked up the screen brightness and how much I use WiFi. No P4 notebook is going to match that. Plus there's the Enhanced Virus Protection that Intel chips don't have, 64-bit capability, not burning your lap like the new Prescott-core P4's are liable to...
