What is the latest version available for QuickPlay?
and would it be recommended to download the latest version?
also is there an official website for QuickPlay?

btw in QuickPlay, from a cold startup, I get some video files "Unable to Play", while in startup from XP the files play fine. Any suggestions to play these files from cold?

The latest version of QP I believe is 2.3-3229. I would recommend upgrading since it would add support for newer formats, bug fixes & GUI improvements.

I could be wrong, but I would think a major update to Quickplay will be released along with Windows Vista (both standalone and within Windows), so if you're not in a huge hurry it might be worth waiting until HP puts up their Vista drivers and system updates. Even if you're not updating to Vista, the new software should be a more major update than the point release updates available now. Just my 2 cents, though.

Sorry to sound pessimistic. I think HP is going to ditch its current customers when Vista comes out. When was the last time HP actually puts up QP for free download? It would be a shame to see that current DV owners upgrade to Vista with no support for QP.

Well, ThunderRiver, I certainly hope you are wrong to be so pessimistic. That said, my information is likely no better than yours. But since they are actively promoting the free Windows Express Upgrade program to Vista I would definitely assume that HP will be providing full drivers/utilities for Vista to all its users. On the off-chance that they don't, I would imagine someone who gets the Express Upgrade package would be kind enough to provide the rest of us with the second DVD (the HP specific one) that comes in that package and that will surely include updated QP software.

Mmm right, you would have to depend on those in the Express Upgrade program. HP most likely won't post the full copy of QP on their web site for download. So those with Xp version of QP is stuck at this time.

    Hi Folks,

I hope someone could help me here. I formatted my HP dv2020ca in order to install XP professional (it came with XP home). Now I need quickplay. I downloaded the file from
http://www.cyberlink.com/cinema/hp/q.../enu/item3.jsp but it is an update that requires the previous full version. Can someone share the previous version here?
    Thank you in advance.
    Rebeca
