I just noticed that HP has some new software called QuickTouch which gives an on-screen display when you change the volume. Some people were looking for it, so I wanted to point it out. Works on my dv9500t for volume up and down.

I tried it, don't like it. I prefer the Microsoft Intellitype software. it's a lot more responsive and discreet than QuickTouch.

Ya I see it as a download, but can you just put of a screenshot or something so we can see what it looks like.
Thanks -

Works on any system. Just choose Digital Media keyboard when you install. You get a nice little volume bar in the bottom right hand of the screen.

can anyone please post a screenshot?
Is it just like a replacement for the vista volume control thing or does it just show the volume when changing it like http://www.macuser.com/images/volumemeter.jpg where they have that little thing that comes up on the screen showing the volume.
Thanks -
I didnt take any screen shots of QuickTouch before I uninstalled it. It has a large black rectangle in the center of the screen with dots to show the volume level.
The Microsoft software has a neater display and is more responsive. I found quicktouch to be sluggish.
Anyway here's a shot of the Intellitype display.

so then it is kind of like the mac volume thing, except it isn't transparent?
Thanks -

thanks, it looks cool
just a question about it though. If lets say you were in a full screen app like a game and you hit the volume button. Will it minimize the app (possibly crashing it)? And about how long does it stay on the screen for?
Thanks -
Don't know about full screen mode. It stays on the screen for a few seconds.
