I just bought an HP Pavillion dv6275us, and I'm just have a question about the Quickplay media player feature.

When you press the Quickplay button, is it supposed to fully load Windows like a normal boot? I thought it would be like a separate operating system that would run without needing to boot Windows. But when I press the Quickplay button, Windows Vista boots like normal and I have to log in. Then it gets to the desktop and starts Quickplay as if I had clicked on the desktop icon.

Is this normal? I don't really see much advantage to it then, I could have just turned the computer on and doubleclicked the icon...

NO, it just loads a limited copy of the windows (on a separate partition) and then loads a media player program.(note : This is at least the case for DELL laptops)
I don't think so.Unless Micro$oft has a added a new policy for Vista preventing hp from doing this.(My brother has a dell loaded with XP and before the MediaDirect was wiped off the HDD,mediadirect loaded a very tiny windows XP without asking for any form of password)

Yes, with Vista its normal. HP used to have a separate partition and the software used to run in a limited Windows environment but ever since they started shipping Vista the system fully boots and then the program starts.

P.S - Its called Quickplay not Quickstart.
