I was just wondering if there was a way I could download and install the Quicktouch software version that came installed on my notebook. It seems the volume/bass/treble control from the quicklaunch buttons were much more accurate and had smaller increments of adjustments than the one I downloaded from the HP website.

I'm not sure if anyone noticed this, but the current version of the Quicktouch software only allows me to adjust the bass and treble by only a few clicks and I can not seem to finetune it through the quicklaunch buttons.

At the risk of being wrong again, I checked (XP & Vista) and it states there are no other version. usually at the HP software page for one's model there are more than one version if indeed there are more to be had? So I'm not getting why you believe there was something different about the software you got from new.

sorry i guess there was only one kind of quicktouch software
what i was looking for was the Microsoft Intellitype looking volume control (Green Bars) as that is what my HDX16t came with from the factory and the controls were quite nice and responsive unlike this HP quicktouch

i noticed that sometimes the quicktouch would make my notebook freeze in constant volume control mode and not allow me to get back to windows
perhaps it's because it was not meant to be used on my HDX16

can anyone tell me what HP uses for the volume GUI display from the factory? well for the HDX or DV series that is...

i tried the 1.00 D update from HP and that disables the on-screen display for all 64-bit vistas
HDX16 needs the on-screen display to work in order to control the bass/treble and i cant find the original software that was working quite well from the factory (there is nothing on the HDX16 download page)
i dont think the HDX16 came installed with quicktouch and it was some different software (with green volume/bass/treble bars)
    please help...

is there anyone with a HDX16t that has any input?
there must be someone who has experienced this after reinstalling their Vista from factory...
