7 months ago there was a recall for some wireless mother board connection cables for my dv6000. I missed out on it because I didn't know. I just found out a few weeks ago. When talked to case manager they said hp only will add 1 year to manufacturing warranty, which expired months ago. They said that the recall was 7-8 months ago and they will not fix my issue for free. They also admitted that it is a manufacturing issue and that it was not built up to par.

Guys do I have a case here or did I miss out? Last year my computer had the symptoms of the recall and I sent it in for repair (not waking up from shutdown and no wireless connectivity).

    Please give me some advice.

    Thanks,
    Middie

Yes its still a case. I helped someone out with the same problem and they had him send it in for free and replaced it with the newer model.

    Thanks Guys.

    flipfire,

I had 24 months warranty that expired in Sept of last year. The case manager says that because the warranty was out and that the recall months ago he can't do anything to help.

    ronnieb,

    Please check you inbox.

    Thanks again guys,
    Middie

A recal is a recall and shouldn't have a time limit. Recall on cars are in effect until the problem is fixed by the manufacturer.

HP doesn't exactly term this as a recall but they are just offering to fix it under an extended warranty which is valid up to 24 months from the start of the initial warranty period. If your laptop is out of this period then you are on your own.

Yes they cleverly termed it as "Limited Service Enhancement"

I suggest you keep trying anyway.
