HP Recent Orders...

I ordered a HP laptop on Wednesday. What I'm wondering can someone who bought a HP laptop recently give me some information on how long it takes them to ship their laptops? Now I know the estimated shipping date is October 10th, but I'm pretty sure that it will ship way before that date. So if you have an experience with a recently ordered HP please give me some details on how long it took them to ship the laptop.

Just ordered a lappy on the 24th, was given a build date of Oct 2. Got an email today (Sep 29) saying the laptop shipped. Fedex does not have an updated delivery date yet on the tracking site, but I'd imagine that I'll get it on the 4th (as the 5-7 day shipping usually takes 3 business days).

The unit I ordered earlier in the month was actually in my hands on the build date. I guess it depends on production conditions at the time.

 

You guys are lucky. I ordered one on the 26th, it's estimated ship date is also the 26th...of October.

 

I'm pretty sure it will ship way before that. HP wants to make you suprised that you got it sooner than estimated.

 

I ordered 2 through CompUSA which goes directly to HP. Ordered one on 9/10, recieved it on 9/20, way ahead of scheduled 10 day estimated ship date. The other one was not so lucky, ordered on 9/15, have not even recieved shipped notification yet. Called CompUSA and they said HP had some sort of production delay.

 

depends on if anything is backordered. Mine was ordered on the 19th with an estimated build of the 26th. Needless to say its not complete. Apparently the C2D 2,0GHZ cpu is whats causing the backorder.

 

True. I ordered mine the 18th; still hasn't shipped yet. They sent me an e-mail apoligzing, and a $50 discount. I think all the CTO models are backordered right now.

 

I ordered my dv2000t on Sep. 19th and was given a estimated ship date of Oct. 3rd. I received notice that it shipped today, and Fedex estimates it will arrive on the 4th.

 

Crispy did you have to request the discount at all? Is this just some sort of automatic HP policy?

 

i wont get anything out of it being backordered since they are giving me a nice new replacement system. I think I did good going from what I had to what Im getting. Although Im sure it is the CPU thats causing the backorder. If you go CTO a DV9 the only thing that extends the date by 9 days is the CPU. Otherwise it stays what it starts out at before you click the 2ghz.

 

Ordered mine on the 21st. Expected build date was Oct. 11th. Got an email today (29th) saying it was shipped so I was a bit surprised by that.

I got the DV2000t with Core 2 Duo T7200.

 

I ordered mine on the 27th from costco and was given a shipping date of October 16th for the dv 2000t with the 2.0 processor. I believe the 2.0 processor adds another 7 days to the shipping date. When you guys get your notebooks I would appreciate using this site to let people now how long it took to ship and how is the touchpad working and what mfg of your lcd screen.

 

They just sent it to me in an e-mail.

Well mine hasn't shipped yet, but I only ordered mine on Wednesday. Anyone think there's a chance they will ship it out on a Saturday?

When I saw your post thing morning I was thinking "of course they wouldn't ship on a Saturday"...until I checked my email 10 min. ago! My v3000z finally shipped! Hopefully it'll get here in the next few days. Hope the rest of you guys get lucky too.

 

Well seeing it's not 6:45 there's no chance my laptop is being shipped today. Hopefully it ships on Monday. I really want to get this laptop, I've been waiting for a while since I ordered a Dell originally and they had it all boxed and almost ready to ship, but I canceled the order because they were offering good updates. So I canceled and reordered. I was then stuck at pre-production for like a week and canceled my order and went with HP becuase they had a way better deal, and their laptops look nicer. I have been waiting over 2 months now. I can't wait anymore! lol

 

I ordered a CTO DV6000t. And... they said in the e-mail that they would ship today...so far, no dice.

 

I ordered my laptop on Wednesday. The estimated ship date isn't until the 10th. I'm hoping and praying that it will ship way before that. I need my laptop soon. Anyone think they might ship it before the estimated ship date? Or will they most likely take until the full estimated time and not ship until the 10th?

 

just got my dv2000t with the T7200 Core2Duo today. didn't take too long to reach me at all. but I got the SEC display. I'm deciding if I should go through the whole process to try to get another screen type.

Oh all right. I ordered mine on the 26th. I'm really hoping that it ships tomorrow since it's not going to ship tonight. I keep hoping and praying, but it never ships out!

Is there another step after this before it's shipped out? Or is this the last step until they ship out the laptop?

 

Recieved my laptop today on 10/4. Ordered on 9/15 and shipping notification came 9/29. I guess it really is 3 day shipping but the production delay just slowed it down.

 

I don't understand why it takes these companies so long to build a computer and send it out. I understand that there are a lot of people ordering computers right now. But I need to have this laptop for my school work. This incredible build time is killing me. It's Wednesday and it's still being built. Maybe I'm just being unpatient, but you'd think they would get these computers built a little faster.

It's now Wednesday and my computer is still in for production. Can someone please tell me if this is the last step before shipping. Or do they have a boxing and kitting step and all that other **** like Dell? I will update again late tonight if it gets shipped out today. I'm not planning on it. I will also update everyone tomorrow also. I don't think my laptop is going to be shipped out until the actual estimated shipping date of October 10th. There's nothing special in my computer which would sell out and delay my order so long.

 

I ordered my 7200 nc8430 on the 26th of december, and got a mail yesterday it was shipped.
Should arrive in the next couple of days, which is about as scheduled.
Can't wait for it to get here.

Anyway, I was really anxious about it because of all the bad experience people had here with HP's deadlines, but I guess it's just a matter of luck.

 

It will say "In Production" until it ships. As the lead times appear to be getting longer, I would not count on it shipping until the date given. Maybe a day or two before, but then that could be considered a bonus.

Look on the bright side. Some of the lead times have now been extended to November 1st on the newest orders. Luckily you got in before things really went nuts.

My estimate ship date is also October 10th. Also nothing yet for me either. I want my laptop so bad. I can't believe I'm actually going to wait for the whole estimated date. This is so ridiculous. Does it really take that long to buildONE computer?

Well my order shipped today. Well it says on the Fedex website it shipped yesterday. Hopefully it comes either Tuesday or Thursday since I have school on Monday Wednesday and Fridays.

Yeah mines already in INDIANAPOLIS, IN. It says estimated delivery date is for the 13th. I don't think it would take that long to get my package from Indianapolis. Usually when I order something from FedEx is comes earlier than the estimated delivery date. But for UPS is usually ships on the date it says. Luckilly it's FedEx and comes earlier then it states.

 

usually when it's in Indianapolis, IN it's just one business day away from receiving it - for me (California)- sometimes 2 days if customs does a random inspection or for problems with addressing. i've ordered a half dozen over the past year and have them delivered to my work since nobody's usually at home.

 

I live in Albany, NY. Hopefully it'll take 1 or 2 days to get to me. Even though the estimated delivery date says not until October 13th. Does FedEx ever ship early to anyone else or usually right on the estimated delivery date?

 

Well now the package is in East Boston, MA. I doubt it will take 5 days for them to get to Albany, NY from East Boston. I'm so excited about my laptop and I can see it coming Tuesday or Wednesday.

Edit: Does anyone know if FedEx will be delivering tomorrow? Tomorrow is Columbus Day and I don't know if they'll be closed for it. I know our gay ass school is going to be open which is bull. But I don't know if FedEx will be open. I would think they would be closed tomorrow since it's a federal holiday.

 

Well FedEx just dropped off my HP 9000t today so there is deliveries on Comlumbus day. My exepected date wasnt till the 13th so it should be there today or tomorrow. Hope you get your new lappy soon.

 

Yup! My laptop came today. I'm so happy. I'm already planning on reformatting it and putting Windows Vista on it. Thanks everyone for your input. This laptop is very nice and I'm really happy I went with HP.

Well I tried installing Vista since I don't have a clean version of Windows XP. But I was getting blue screen errors with the Vista so I went and use the recovery DVDs it came with. I ordered the Windows XP CD's thinking it was going to give me a clean version of XP. Man was I wrong. Is there ANY way I can get a clean version installed without pirating XP and not buying another copy? I find it really annoying that I can't have a clean install on my own computer.

Also: how do I find out which screen it is again?

 

i'm not sure, but try this: system properties > hardware > device manager > monitors > plug and play monitors > properties > details

Gah! Yesterday was shipping date, but it's still "in production"

Well, no. Yesterday was the shipping date for my DV2000t and I got a notice saying that it shipped yesterday. Apparently it has made it to Anchorage, Alaska so far. Yay for me?

 

I ordered a dv2000t on Oct. 3rd with an estimated ship date of Oct. 24.

I checked today on HP's website and if I were to order the same computer today it would have an estimated ship date of Oct. 19!

Can I assume that they would ship my order before someone who ordered the exact same computer today? So my ship date, while not updated in order status, is, in effect, the 19th?

 

Ordered dv2000t: Oct 3
Estimated ship date: Oct 24
Actual ship date: Oct 11
Scheduled delivery date: Oct 16

Only 6 days late.
