I just feel like doin a clean install without makin these recovery discs, will that be alrite? ive been wantin to do this for a long time just dont feel like waiting anymore

i know it might be abit of a hassle, but have you tried the 8x CD-R's

You can call hp and tell them your unable to create your Recovery disks. They might be stumped and send you one for free if you force them enough. Tell them youve tried all different media types

I know its pain in the ass. It happen to me before I waste a lot of blank DVD. So I figure it out if you want to make a recovery disk do it in a safe mode.

Restart your computer press f8 until they prompt you to boot to safe mode then I bet ya you won't get those nasty error again just remember use the best DVD you can get coz you can only make one set per computer.
