I just purchased a HP Pavilion dv5000 recently and I have used the add/remove programs utility in the control panel to remove some programs I wouldn't be using and system restore was turned off.

I deleted these programs before using the HP Recovery Disc Creator. If I create the recovery discs now will this create any problem for me if I need to restore the notebook to factory condition?

    Thanks in advance! :)

Nope, no problem. But you should create the recovery disks ASAP just in case you need them.

I'm glad to hear that it won't cause me any trouble :D

I didn't create the Recovery Discs right away because I was so excited when I got the notebook home and totally forgot to make them.

Thanks for the quick response :)

    Nope.

Rest assured, the recovery disks you'll create, if ever used, will reinstall every piece of AOL, Vongo, Quicken 2006, Netscape, Microsoft Money, Rhapsody, Norton and other piece of demo wear and junk program which your computer originally came with!

    Fear not!

    :D

The data that the recovery discs are made from is on your recovery partition of the HDD. As long as you have not formated, or repatritioned that partition, then you can make recovery discs. Even if you uninstalled things in Windows, the recovery partition is untouched.

If you have formated it, then you are probably not gonna be able to get the preinstalled crap that came with your computer. And its gonna be a pain in the ass to find the drivers if you need to reinstall windows.

Yea that's why i didn't want to do a pc restore because it just installs all that junk software back in. The best way to do it is through format, a clean install of windows but the problem is...you need the cd and you can't burn just the OS system out.

Read more about my post here...it was a pain in the a$$ to get that cd

Is that recovery disc an all or nothing deal? I'd like to keep MS Money, but none of the other junk.
