Do the recovery disks return your system to the state it was in when you burned the disks or to the state it was in when it left the factory?

    I have a question also,

If you create a set of recovery disks, but then you exchange that laptop for a new one, can you still use those same recovery disks? Or would you need to create a new set of recovery disks for the new laptop?

I would create new discs from the new laptop...but with that said...I think that the configuration is pretty standard (except RAID setup), for all. As long as the replacement is the same model.
