    Hi,

I've bought an HP Compaq nx8420 a month ago. When it was new, it already had a 10GB partition of my harddisk (100GB in total) which was reserved as a recovery drive. I used the tools provided by HP to install components to this drive (HP_Recovery, E:\), but then today it suddenly created one more partition from my C drive, that means adding a G drive (HP_Recovery, G:\). So now my C drive has 10GB less and I had totally no idea why it created an identical drive.

I tried to format the G drive but then after formatting the G drive, I found out that the E drive was formatted also. So now I have two 10GB E drive and G drive free. Here's my question:

How can I "unpartition" the G drive and combine it with my C drive? How can I install the recovery components to my E drive again? I just want to make it as before.

Another question is that is this recovery drive useful at all? I have burned 3 DVDs for recovery so do I still need one in my harddisk?

    Thanks a lot.

What makes things worse now is that the G drive disappeared. In "My Computer" it says I used around 70GB in C drive but then when I added my folders they are around 60GB only. Where has my 10GB gone?
