I had lost my Recovery DVD's and followed the instructions to create a new set by deleting hpcd.sys. When I opened recovery manager, and selected the option to create new discs, I was told the HP Recovery Partition could not be found and that I should contact support. Despite the message, it did continue to a disc creation screen, but the recovery only created 1 empty dvd.

I also tried pressing F11 at startup, but the machine didn't load the recovery partition. I had fooled around a bit creating new partitions on my second hard drive using Windows Disk Management, but I don't think that should affect it.

Any suggestions? I would prefer not to have to order hp recovery cds. Thanks in advance.
