Well i recently started a new thread on here titled backup failure, but nobody responded to it. Anyways, i am noticing that my HP Recovery Partition is filling up, i only have 455 mb of 6.62 gigs that is free on that partition. Is there any way to clear out some room on it? Is this something i should worry about? I did create the original restoration disks the first time i started up the computer, and the computer said they were created successfully. My other problem is the last time i tried to do a full system backup, i got this failure and it wouldn't complete.

Can anyone finally tell me what that failure is? And also whether i need to worry about my recovery partition?
Thanks for the help.
On another note, i hate video card drivers....I updated to the one recommended by windows and my experience scores went down from
Graphics: 3.7
to Graphics: 3.6
and
Gaming Graphics 3.3
to Gaming Graphics 3.2
so i downloaded TRU's Mobilforce M6 101.70 thinkin it would help somethin, and they all stayed the same. I am so frustrated with this i can barely breath. Will somebody with a 3.7 and a 3.3 scores tell me their exact driver?

filling up? i think its supposed to stay at the same size (used and free), unless somehow Vista backup or something is filling it up with backed up files from your normal system. where is the backing up supposed to be placed anyways? i mean you are backing up your files so the backup is placed where? could be in your recovery partition?

My recovery partition has never increased in size. It was 6+ gigs when I bought it and will be 6+ gigs when I get rid of it. So was the same with my previous unit.
I can't imagine how files are getting added to it. Very strange. My first thought would be some sort of malware if this is actually happening........ -

anyways, the only place i've tried to backup my system to is the dvd's which didn't work like i posted above. -
It will grow on some machines. I read a Vista tweak to prevent it but cannot remember where.
I forgot what my D: was new but it is 6.63gb now -
I think it's just a stupid oversight of HP. The recovery drive is usually full to the point that Windows will complain that "this disk is getting full", so it will start to pop up warnings about it. Really stupid user interface issue/oversight.

The size of the partition should not increase but you can put more files intothe partition. mine had 1.5gb free, so i filled it with all the apps i normally installed after a install. Th partition now has 100mb free but works fine (did a full recovery as a test) and no error msg from vista. -
